PRIVATE CHEF JOB DESCRIPTION - SUMMER IN THE HAMPTONS, NY
Summer Private Chef (On-Site + Seasonal Focus)
We are seeking a highly skilled and professional private chef for a family of four for their residence in Southampton. This role is focused on high-end service, catering to a "foodie" household that enjoys a mix of healthy, Mediterranean-inspired "clean" eating and elevated, restaurant-quality comfort foods.
The ideal chef will be a culinary expert capable of managing a "Kosher-style" kitchen (no pork or shellfish) while delivering a diverse range of global cuisines.
LOCATION: Southampton. Looking for local Hamptons talent however we are open to NYC or NY based chefs.
SCHEDULE:

Days: Thursday through Sunday + additional days on holiday weekends (possibility of more days depending on the week)

Duration: Summer Contract (May 29-Sept 7)

Key Service: Friday night Shabbat dinners and weekend hosting.
HOUSEHOLD:
- Two adults and two children (one high school senior)
- Collaborative environment: Chef coordinates with a long-term housekeeper.
- The family enjoys entertaining guests and friends, particularly for Friday night dinners.
MEALS:

Dinner: nightly family-style or casual plated service.

Lunch: Prepared "ready-to-eat" options or light weekend lunch service.

Specialty: Fresh baked goods and a consistent supply of pickled/fermented items for the table.
SERVICE STYLE: Casual, family-style, but executed with high-end precision. The household appreciates a chef who is focused and professional, someone who "does their job" with excellence without being overbearing or "too in the mix" of the family's private time.
CUISINE PREFERENCES:

Primary: Mediterranean, Greek, California Coastal, and Italian (Lilia/Misi style).

Global Interests: Chinese, Japanese (including sushi), Indian, Thai, Mexican, and Spanish.

Specific Favorites: Roasted chicken, steaks for the kids, and high-quality homemade pizza (must be proficient without a pizza oven).
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Nut-Free Execution: STRICT NUT-FREE HOUSEHOLD. Absolutely no peanuts, pistachios, walnuts, pecans, or pine nuts. (Seeds are okay).

Kosher-Style Management: Maintain a pork-free and shellfish-free home. Knowledge of "Kosher-style" (mixing meat/dairy is okay)

Menu Planning: Curate weekly menus inspired by top-tier NYC establishments like Gotham Bar & Grill, The Modern, and Alta Marea.

Provisioning: Sourcing premium, organic-forward ingredients from Hamptons markets and purveyors.

Kitchen Care: Expert use and maintenance of high-end equipment (Blue Star 8-burner range, Wolf electric wall ovens, and Hestan outdoor grill).
IDEAL CHEF PROFILE:

Background: Prior private chef experience or a strong background in high-end NYC restaurant kitchens.

Qualities: Creative, highly organized, and reliable. Must be comfortable with an "organic-forward" and lower-sugar approach to cooking.
