PRIVATE CHEF - CONTRACT POSITION – EAST HAMPTON, NY
$500 per meal ($2,000 per weekend)

We are seeking an easy-going, creative, and highly adaptable Private Chef for a prominent family and their guests spending the month of August in East Hampton. This is a short-term, part-time weekend contract for a fun, lively, and food-loving household.
The ideal candidate will seamlessly blend into a bustling, warm environment, catering to a group that ranges from toddlers to adults. You should be equally comfortable executing clean, simple dishes as you are creating complex, decadent, restaurant-style comfort food.
POSITION OVERVIEW

Location: East Hampton, NY. Candidate must be strictly local to the area; travel, relocation, and commuting costs are not covered.

Schedule: Part-Time (Weekends only for the month of August).

Service Shifts: * Friday: Dinner (6:30 PM – 7:30 PM)

Saturday: Lunch (1:00 PM – 2:00 PM) & Dinner (6:30 PM – 7:30 PM)

Sunday: Lunch (1:00 PM – 2:00 PM)

Household Size: Typically 8–10 adults (ages 30s+) and 2 children (ages 2 and 4). Regular entertaining and hosting should be expected.

Collaborative Environment: The chef will work alongside the family's housekeepers. Because the principals love to cook themselves, a collaborative, welcoming attitude in the kitchen is a must.

Culinary Benchmarks: Dishes inspired by the standards of Daniel Boulud, Sant Ambroeus, Le Bilboquet, and Wolfgang’s Steakhouse.
DIETARY RESTRICTIONS & PREFERENCES
A critical requirement of this role is absolute precision regarding food allergies and dietary preferences. The chef must be highly flexible and attentive to the following:

Severe Allergy: Celiac / Strict Gluten-Free required for 1–2 of the adults. Thorough cross-contamination protocols must be followed.

Shellfish: Discretionary. Some adults in the household enthusiastically eat shellfish, while others strictly avoid it. Dishes must be clearly separated or adapted.

Hard Dislikes: Absolutely no cilantro, no bell peppers, and no eggplant used in any meals.

Children's Meals: Approachable, kid-friendly versions of meals for the 2 and 4-year-olds.
SERVICE STYLE
The service style shifts depending on the time of day and the flow of the weekend:

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Full-Cycle Service: Menu curation tailored to weekly preferences, sourcing/provisioning the finest local Hamptons ingredients, immaculate preparation, plating, and meticulous kitchen clean-up.

Kitchen Management: Operating and maintaining a premium, highly equipped residential kitchen featuring an induction stove, steam oven, warming drawer, grill, and dual refrigerators/freezers.
IDEAL CHEF PROFILE

Experience: Flexible on formal credentials, but a proven track record of cooking at a high-end restaurant or private home level is required. Must possess exceptional execution skills.

Personality: Easy-going, vibrant, and an excellent listener. You should love food, enjoy interacting with a lively family, and remain flexible by shifting guest counts or dietary adjustments.
