About the Role
We are seeking a highly professional, adaptable, and health-conscious Rotational Private Chef to join a fast-paced, high-profile household. Operating on a 30-day ON / 30-day OFF rotation (partnering with a co-chef), this role requires a candidate who thrives on culinary excellence, global travel, and meticulous operational management.
In addition to preparing daily high-quality, aesthetically plated meals (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Snacks), the ideal candidate will focus heavily on nutritional balance and calorie reporting rather than traditional heavy fine-dining. You will operate solo in the kitchen—handling end-to-end menu creation, ingredient sourcing, daily kitchen management, and administrative tracking.
Key Responsibilities
Culinary & Meal Execution
-
Full-Spectrum Meal Service: Plan, prepare, and present daily Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Snacks for the primary client, executive, visiting family, business guests, and household staff.
-
Nutritional Alignment: Report and log daily dietary metrics and calorie counts for the Client. Emphasize clean, health-conscious, nutrient-dense cuisine tailored to daily fitness regimens.
-
Aesthetic Plating & Service: Deliver refined, fresh, and modern presentation tailored to the client’s preferences without unnecessary formality.
-
Cuisine Versatility: Craft diverse menus.
-
Event Catering: Manage small-scale intimate gatherings, business lunches, and family events seamlessly.
Kitchen & Inventory Management
-
Sourcing & Grocery Operations: All ingredient procurement, selecting high-quality, local, and seasonal ingredients across various domestic and international locations.
-
Kitchen Maintenance: Maintain strict hygiene, sanitation, and organization of all kitchen spaces, high-end culinary equipment, and pantries (both at primary residences and on location).
-
Solo Execution: Independently manage all kitchen duties from prep to teardown without reliance on junior kitchen staff.
Administrative & Team Collaboration
-
Daily PA Syncs: Participate in brief daily briefings with the Personal Assistant (PA) department to review the next day’s schedule, meal timing, guest counts, and travel logistics.
-
Co-Chef Coordination: Collaborate smoothly with your rotational co-chef during handovers (including overlap days) to ensure seamless continuity in client preferences, kitchen inventory, and scheduling.
-
Financial & Data Tracking: Maintain daily calorie grids, keep menu software up to date, and submit weekly expense logs, receipts, timesheets, and monthly budget proposals to the Business Manager.
Rotation & Travel Structure
-
Schedule: 30 days ON / 30 days OFF. Target commitment is ~7.5 months active service annually to accommodate smooth handover overlaps, training, and variable travel schedules.
-
Daily Rhythm: Schedules are communicated daily by the PA team. Client prioritizes team well-being—ensuring reasonable turnaround windows for proper sleep, recovery, and personal fitness time.
-
Global Mobility: Must be fully comfortable cooking in diverse kitchen environments, on location, and adapting quickly to regional supply chains while traveling.
Desired Candidate Profile & Character Sketch
-
High Emotional Intelligence & Discretion: Professional, respectful, well-mannered, and comfortable operating around top-tier executives and high-net-worth environments.
-
Communicator & Collaborator: Strong verbal and written communication skills with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
-
Passionate & Creative: A genuine love for food, culinary exploration, and international travel.
-
Health & Fitness Mindset: Personal appreciation for wellness, physical fitness, and nutritional balance.
-
Leadership & Independence: Possesses strong leadership qualities, self-motivation, and the ability to run an efficient kitchen independently.
Qualifications & Experience Requirements
-
Private Chef Experience: Proven track record working as a Private/Personal Chef in private households, or estate settings.
-
Nutritional Expertise: Ideally the chef would have a deep understanding of macronutrients, calorie tracking, and clean, wholesome cooking methods. However the household is happy to provide training in these specific areas.
-
Global Travel Readiness: Valid passport with the flexibility to travel domestically and internationally on short notice during your “on post time”.
-
Administrative Proficiency: Willing to learn and do basic administrative work like managing expense tracking, menu logging software, and communication channels. The household is willing to teach this as well.
- No Social Media Presence
Compensation & Package
-
Base Salary: Six figure salary - annually (commensurate with experience).
-
Bonuses: Discretionary performance bonuses.
-
Travel Benefits: 100% paid travel expenses including commercial flights, accommodations (hotels/apartments), ground transit/car rentals, and daily per diem while on shift.
