PRIVATE CHEF JOB DESCRIPTION — PALO ALTO, CA

Part Time Private Family Chef (On Site + Meal Prep)

We are seeking an experienced private chef for a busy, health focused family of five in Palo Alto, California. This role is expected to be on site approximately 3 days per week to start, with additional off site or on site meal prep, and has the potential to expand to more on site days over time as family needs grow. The schedule is generally Monday, Wednesday, Thursday OR Friday.

The chef will lead menu creation, planning, and execution of family style, kid friendly meals that are nutritious, organic forward, and appealing to both adults and children. The household prefers a mix of prepared ahead meals and plated dinners.

LOCATION: Palo Alto, California

No relocation or commuting reimbursement available.

SCHEDULE:

3 per week

Mix of on site cooking and advance meal prep

HOUSEHOLD:

Two adults and three children

Chef coordinates with principal, nanny, and housekeepers

MEALS:

Lunch, Dinner, Snacks

Lunch often prepared ahead

Dinner is family style or plated depending on the day

SERVICE STYLE:

Casual, family style meals that are healthy, clean, kid friendly, organic focused, lower sugar, with homemade staples and dairy free options preferred.

CUISINE PREFERENCES:

Global cuisines especially Mediterranean and Asian

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Create weekly menus aligned with family preferences and nutrition goals

• Prepare ready to eat meals using a mix of plated service, advance meal prep, and family style.

 • Source groceries and provision with an organic focus

• Maintain kitchen organization, cleanliness, and food safety standards

• Adapt menus and workflow to a busy household schedule

• Coordinate with household staff

• Manage portions and ordering to avoid overshopping while maintaining quality

IDEAL CHEF PROFILE:

• Prior private chef experience required

• Strong background in family and child friendly cooking

• Confident with independent menu planning and execution

• Creative, flexible, and easygoing personality

• Highly organized, reliable, and discreet

• Comfortable in an active household environment

• Must pass background check

COMPENSATION:

• Salary range: $130,000–$150,000, commensurate with experience and scope

• Opportunity for role expansion over time
